RADIESSE® is a different product from a hyaluronic acid filler. Product choice depends on your anatomy, the area being considered and the change you want.

RADIESSE® contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. Its material differs from the hyaluronic acid used in JUVÉDERM®. That difference is a useful starting point when comparing options for volume and collagen stimulation, rather than assuming that all fillers are interchangeable.

What is RADIESSE®?
RADIESSE® contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel and has a collagen-stimulating effect. Its material and behaviour differ from hyaluronic acid fillers. At your consultation, ask what change is being proposed, how the product supports that goal and what would be visible initially versus assessed later. A manufacturer description explains the product, but your anatomy determines whether it belongs in your plan.
Is it the same as JUVÉDERM®?
No. JUVÉDERM® is a collection of hyaluronic acid fillers; RADIESSE® uses calcium hydroxylapatite. They are not interchangeable, and an approach used to dissolve a hyaluronic acid filler should not be assumed to reverse RADIESSE®. Discuss product choice carefully before proceeding, including its limitations, the treatment area and how an unsatisfactory result or complication would be assessed and managed.
How do I find out if it is right for me?
Start with a complimentary consultation at Laser Aesthetics and explain the area you are considering, your preferred degree of change and any previous filler. Bring your medical and medication history and discuss allergies or previous reactions. Ask specifically about swelling, bruising, lumps and rare serious injection complications, including vascular injury. Suitability requires an individual assessment rather than matching yourself to a manufacturer's photograph.
When will I know the treatment plan?
The recommendation is discussed after your assessment, before you agree to proceed. Ask for the product name, proposed area, intended change, total cost and expected review arrangements. Clarify how recovery could affect your plans and what symptoms require urgent help. You can take time to consider the recommendation; a consultation does not commit you to having an injection that day.
