About this treatment

Strengthen the pelvic floor without an invasive procedure.

BTL EMSELLA uses focused electromagnetic energy to stimulate deep pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain seated and fully clothed. It is offered for bladder control concerns related to pelvic floor weakness, and the clinic will confirm whether it is appropriate for you before a treatment plan begins.

The EMSELLA chair delivers focused electromagnetic energy to the pelvic floor, creating deep muscle contractions that would be difficult to reproduce through voluntary exercise alone.

You remain seated and fully clothed during treatment. The plan is commonly considered for bladder leakage and pelvic floor weakness related to childbirth, aging or other changes, but a consultation is needed to confirm fit.

Pelvic floor care starts with the symptoms.

Pelvic floor weakness can show up as leakage with coughing, laughing or exercise, a sudden urge to urinate, or reduced confidence in daily activity. Those symptoms and your health history help determine whether a chair-based treatment is a reasonable option to discuss.

BTL EMSELLA is designed to stimulate the pelvic floor without an internal device or undressing. It does not replace a medical assessment when symptoms are new, painful, worsening or may have another cause.

A private conversation about bladder symptoms.

It can help to write down when leakage happens and what you would most like to do more comfortably. BTL EMSELLA uses electromagnetic stimulation to produce pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain clothed. Whether that approach fits your symptoms requires an assessment.

Use the consultation to discuss your health history, previous pelvic treatment and any implanted medical devices. Ask how this option compares with other care, including pelvic floor assessment or physiotherapy, and how progress would be reviewed. Not every bladder symptom has the same cause.

Common questions

What happens during an EMSELLA session?

You sit fully clothed on the BTL EMSELLA chair while electromagnetic stimulation produces pelvic floor muscle contractions. Tingling and strong muscle activity may be noticeable. At your consultation, ask how the session is explained, how comfort is monitored and what you should report during treatment; you should understand the experience before deciding whether to book a course.

Who may consider EMSELLA?

BTL EMSELLA may be considered for selected bladder-control concerns associated with pelvic floor weakness in women or men. Symptoms have different causes, so describing when leakage happens is more useful than choosing a treatment first. Tell us how it affects exercise, work or daily life, and ask whether medical assessment or another pelvic health approach should come before device treatment.

Is there downtime?

The clinic describes BTL EMSELLA as non-invasive, with usual daily activities generally resumed after a session. That convenience does not establish suitability or guarantee symptom improvement. Ask how appointments fit into a proposed plan, what you might notice afterward and how to raise any new discomfort or change in symptoms rather than assuming everything is an expected response.

How is the treatment plan chosen?

Your symptoms and health history guide the discussion before a course is recommended. Ask what improvement would count as useful for you, when progress would be reviewed and what happens if the response is limited. The number and spacing of visits, total cost and possible follow-up should be clear before booking, rather than inferred from a manufacturer's general treatment example.

Do I remain fully clothed during BTL EMSELLA treatment?

Yes, treatment takes place while you remain clothed and seated on the chair. Ask the clinic about suitable clothing and preparation when booking. Also disclose implants, implanted electronic devices, pregnancy and any relevant surgery or medical condition during screening so the clinician can check the device's instructions for use; being non-invasive does not mean the treatment is suitable for everyone.

Does BTL EMSELLA replace a pelvic health assessment?

No. A pelvic health assessment considers why symptoms are happening, while a device session is one possible intervention. New pain, bleeding or a sudden change in bladder function warrants medical attention rather than simply booking cosmetic-clinic treatment. Explain any existing diagnosis or pelvic physiotherapy plan so the discussion can account for the care you already receive.

Recommendations are informational. A clinical consultation is required to confirm suitability, risks and expected results.
